You Big Blur - Abstract Digital Painting by Sam Freek

Green, yellow and pink digital abstract painting
This is a brand spanking new green, yellow and pink abstract digital painting that I created last week. I'm not usually one for creating art with the main colour being green but I do like it in this blurry abstract. A simple and striking piece of art that has an air of mystery surrounding it as the image itself is blurred and never allows you to see what's underneath.

This canvas wall art print started its life out as a photograph in which I digitally manipulated it into the colours I wanted along with the style. The photograph is then printed onto high quality canvas before being hand mounted onto 1.5 inch stretcher bars (I like using these large stretcher bars as the artwork makes more of an impact by making the art jump off your wall). A coat of varnish is applied to the canvas which helps protect the canvas, allows you to lightly clean the canvas and helps the colours really 'pop out'. This canvas artwork can be delivered anywhere in this big wide world....from bonnie Scotland to New York, from New York to Chicago, from Chicago to Albuquerque (just wanted to say Albuquerque as it's a cool name for a city), I wish I could deliver them all myself so I could have a mini adventure along the way but all the artwork are delivered by Fedex or UPS and are tracked. I'm starting to waffle on now so if you would like to know anything more about this artwork or any of my paintings, photographs, prints or drawings then please feel free to contact me by email or phone or snail mail ....a postcard would be nice actually with a photo of your local town on it.....(waffling again)...I'm Sam Freek - The Artist :-) ...over and out....

Modern Abstract Paintings by Sam Freek

It's a great Monday morning as I've had some brilliant feedback about my artwork over the weekend so I'm all happy today and thought I'd share these two new paintings that are being sold together. They are 2 x 20" x 32" - on 1.5" stretcher bars  and are hand painted multi coloured abstract paintings. Acrylic colours used on "This Is A Mistake" are black, white and pink. The acrylic colours used on "There Are No Mistakes" are black, white, red, blue, pink, yellow, orange and green.

One day I thought I'd made a huge mistake and was beating myself up pretty bad about it as I couldn't let it go, so I thought I would turn this mood into art and started painting the "This Is A Mistake" artwork and wanted it to look simple with a careless feel about it. Part of the painting was already in my mind and the rest just came to me in a carefree way as I was laying the paint down on canvas. The second contemporary painting, "There Are No Mistakes" was a previously finished (or half finished as it didn't feel completed) painting and I realised upon looking at both of these artworks side by side that there are no mistakes and so I added a large dripping speech bubble with my new mantra "There Are No Mistakes" which brought both the paintings together.

If you have any questions about this painting then please feel free to contact me - Sam Freek (The Artist).

Coming Up For Air - Abstract Digital Painting

Contemporary Abstract Digital Painting by Sam Freek
Well it's Friday again and I still haven't got to the end of my "list of things to do" but I have added this new contemporary digital abstract painting to the website that I really, really like. It's simplicity, colours and random abstract forms makes this artwork a feast for the eye balls and would make a striking centre piece for any wall. The colours (blue, yellow, pink and green) are playful, fun and vibrant which draw you into it's upbeat charm, while the simplicity of the random abstract shapes allows you to escape into an uncomplicated mind set allowing you a reprieve from the humdrum of everyday life.

The title "Coming Up For Air" is a way of describing how Monday to Friday we all work and do whatever we have to in order to get by, before we reach the weekend and have our own time (fun time). The 'coming up for air' is a way of expressing how I feel when the weekend arrives, I am no longer holding my breathe as I take in a gasp of air and start to feel alive.

I set out wanting to create a fun painting that would bring out the feeling of happiness and joy when being viewed. The painting has black edges which finish this striking painting off perfectly. Industrial Soundscape - Sound Design by Freek

An industrial soundscape reminds me of the noises you would hear whilst working in a mill and also the grimness of it (especially when it was cold). To be fair I did enjoy working in a mill but it was the people and the "crack" (laugh) that made it all worthwhile.

Visiting time in the hospital and I noticed how old fashioned the place had become and how much it reminded me of my old school, dark corridors, dark rooms with minimal effort of any type of aesthetically pleasing view from most of the wards looking out onto the landscape.

This large contemporary abstract painting is made up of images that appeared in my brain when I don't get much sleep as it seems to go into overdrive and my brain sends me constant images for me to create (image looking at google image search on speed). This painting was created from these sleepless images and from a place where I seem to be in euphoria before I come crashing down and go to sleep. They are cartoon like images but they are all related to each other and are all placed perfectly throughout the painting. This modern painting gives off a happy, playful vibe which always brings a smile to my face when I sit and look at it. The painting has black edges which finish this striking painting off perfectly.  There just isn't enough time in the day for me to get everything done on my list, (quick moan)...End of Moan.

This is a large contemporary multi coloured abstract painting, it is a painting of a face that I had in my mind one day (close up). The face was that of a cartoon chicken which had dazed eyes and instead of painting the whole image I saw in my head I thought the eyes would look simply brilliant painted onto a large square canvas. I entitled it 'Peek a Boo' as that is what the eyes are doing, playing 'Peek a Boo' with you. White edges finish this striking painting off perfectly and it is ready to hang as no framing is required. If you have any questions about this painting then please feel free to contact me - Sam Freek (The Artist).

Contemporary Art  Painting - Scrambled Egg Brains by Sam Freek

The title of this contemporary abstract painting if you hadn't already guessed it by now is"Scrambled Egg Brains" and it measures a cool 42" x 42" x 1.5" and I say cool as it really is a good size for a painting, it's like a 'phoar' size to have above your fireplace or above your bed or even in your kitchen near the table. This is my largest painting to date and I only want to get bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger.....huge, mahoosive, enormous....so it has to be air lifted to the customer ha ha ha!

The idea behind this painting came from an experience I had when a man became dumbfounded by a beautiful woman. This unsuspecting victim of beauty was in awe and he couldn't seem to function correctly in her presence. Feeling this mans uncomfortableness and seeing the mans brains become 'scrambled' by her charm I transposed this event into an abstract painting. White edges finish this striking painting off perfectly and it is ready to hang as no framing is required. If you have any questions about this painting then please feel free to contact me - Sam Freek (The Artist).

Bus Graveyard by Sam Freek - Contemporary Urban Photography
I said I was going to try and write something with each photo I added to this blog but I've changed my mind ;-O.  This photo was taken on the way into town as I passed an industrial estate and spotted some run down buses full of old seats, I pulled the car over and liked the colour of the bus against the blue sky with the white cloud that luckily was slap in the middle of the photograph. The reflections are subtle and thankfully don't hide the piles of dated cushions. Not sure why the side of the bus is sprayed black, maybe covering an old logo but I like the randomness of it. The End.

Contemporary Abstract Digital Painting by Sam Freek
I have entitled this abstract artwork 'Anger Management' as at the time of its creation I had just completed an online anger management questionnaire to see if I had anger issues, turns out it said I have and I wanted to email the website and tell them I haven't and their questionnaire was pap ;-O ha ha ha. The title suits the style of this abstract artwork as it comes across as angrily made what with the appearance of the surface layers scraped off to reveal whats underneath. The use of vibrant neon colours in abstract art seems to be becoming a trend and I love the vibrancy of the green against the yellow and pink.

At the moment I can't think straight as it is approaching dinner time and I am starving so I'm chewing on my fingers and all I can think about is food. But to tell you a little bit more about the artwork you are feasting your eye balls on I will continue until the clock strikes 12.

This is a digital abstract painting which first started its life as a photograph and through digital manipulation you can no longer see what the subject was in the photo but instead an eye catching piece canvas wall art print. You can see more of my artwork on my website (www.didgiwidgi.co.uk) and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me, Sam Freek - The Artist.

Stay Forever - Multi Coloured Abstract Wall Art

Contemporary Abstract Wall Art by Sam Freek
Oo I am busy this week and I don't seem to know my head from my arse. This is another new multi coloured abstract canvas art entitled "Stay Forever", I do love the rustic colours in this artwork that run alongside the electric sky blue. It might look like a painting but it's not, although some artists are now calling them "digital paintings" so let me explain to you what you are feasting your eye balls on.

I took a photograph of a run down wall whilst out walking in the beautiful country of Spain and when I got back home to the tiny village of Cleckheaton which is on England I uploaded this photograph to my computer. This photograph was digitally manipulated and created into an eye catching (some may say breathe taking) work of art. This photographic work of art is then printed onto quality canvas before being hand mounted onto 1.5 inch stretcher bars. A fine coat of varnish is applied to the canvas which helps highlight the colours and which also helps protect the art piece.

Panoramic art is a popular size as they look amaze balls above a bed, sofa or I have even seen a customer place them at the top of the stairs (sideways) where most people have a blank wall and when you are walking to the top of the stairs you actually sometimes say to yourself, 'I wonder what I could put there to fill that blank space'.....well now you know....a piece of eye catching wall art.

This artwork can delivered anywhere in the world from New York to Los Angeles to Milan to Barnsley, the artwork is well packaged and sent tracked so you can follow the delivery progress. If you have any questions about this abstract artwork or any other art you have seen on my website (www.didgiwidgi.co.uk), then please feel free to contact me - Sam Freek, The Artist.

Abstract Wall Art by Sam Freek - Pink, yellow and green

Contemporary abstract wall art for the modern home
I came up with the phrase contemporary art for the modern home donkey years ago and I like using that phrase but sometimes I think......am I leaving the people out who don't have modern homes (because I want to be fair) so maybe the phrase should be...contemporary art for the modern home and not so modern home....yeh maybe not...anyway...

You know who the colours pink and green remind me of? Nigella Lawson,  as she seems to love that combination of colours so I was originally going to call this artwork Nigella but there's a bit of yellow in there and so I thought about it some more and it reminded me of rhubarb and custard and it stuck.

Here I am just waffling on again when I supposed to be selling you this artwork of mine (looks around) .....(whistles a tune for a while) .................(goes on Twitter and Facebook)...I do like these colours on this artwork as they are not colours I usually create with....pink...nope...green...nope but put them together with a splash of yellow and hey presto (blows a wolf whistle), looking good.

This abstract wall art is available to buy from my website and it can be delivered anywhere in the world, yep, anywhere, I have once even sold a canvas to Hawaii which I was so chuffed about I almost made myself a t-shirt saying "I sold some artwork to Hawaii". Anyway, this striking piece of art, yes striking, started its life out as a photograph and then was digitally manipulated by myself before being printed onto quality, yes quality, canvas before being hand mounted onto 1.5 inch stretcher bars. I like to use 1.5 inch stretcher bars on my artwork as they help make the artwork really stand out from the wall and make an impact. If you have any questions regarding this artwork or any other artwork I have on my wonderful website (www.didgiwidgi.co.uk) then please feel free to contact me....Sam Freek - The Artist formerly know as Pain In The Arse....well that's what my mum used to call me anyway.

Industrial Sunset - Urban Photography by Sam Freek
I'm going to try and write a bit about each photograph I put up on the blog, it just seems to take me a long time to put something together where as I think I could be spending my time creating something. Not sure where the rest of the chimney is on this photo, it looks like half of it is missing and it should be made from bricks.  It was one of those clear warm sunny days where you just want to sit in a beer garden with good beer and conversation, I ended up in the pub until I realised the sun would be setting soon and I hadn't taken many photographs. This was one of the last photographs I took as the sun was setting, I was walking on my way to another pub though :-).

As well as talk a bit about the photograph I also want to try and persuade you to go and visit my website...(10 minutes pass)....just spent far too much time figuring out what I should write on how to persuade you to look at my website......still thinking. (10 more minutes pass).....I'm thinking a BIG PRETTY PLEASE might do for now? ...........www.didgiwidgi.co.uk

Multi Coloured Contemporary Abstract Art by Sam Freek

Been busy again this week with taking photographs and creating some new artwork from them and this is the outcome from one. This artwork is/was a photograph of a wall that had markings on it from wear and tear and I have digitally manipulated it into this colourful abstract canvas wall art. I love the deep pink against the electric blue in this artwork as it almost shimmers on the wall.

This is an abstract canvas print which started its life as a photograph, then I digitally manipulated it before it is printed onto high quality canvas and then wrapped around 1.5 inch stretcher bars. Most of my artwork tends to be on 1.5 inch stretcher bars as it helps the artwork make a statement on your wall, its like a wham, bam straight into your eye balls, yes that's what it is....wham bam into your eye balls.
