Here we have a grumpy cragg that is pretty much fed up of being in the same place all the time.

These trees chuckle and chortle as you walk past, not at you but they just love to laugh.

This rock wants its fringe cut as it can only see out of it when the wind blows it to the side.

After walking a few miles at the weekend I decided to stop for something to eat and drink next to the river. Sitting next to the river and watching it flow past me I noticed that on the edges the foam on the top began to form abstract patterns as it pushes and swirls against the river banks so I took a number of photographs and here they are. These patterns constantly changed so I was happily snapping away until all the foam cleared up and dispersed. The top photograph reminds me of images you see of cloud formations from outer space.

Stepping Stones - Hardcastle Craggs by Sam Freek
Last weekend I went for a walk around Hardcastle Craggs which is just outside of Hebden Bridge town centre in West Yorkshire, England. The photo is of a cute little building that I imagined I owned and I would skip across the stream on the stepping stones to get to the shops/pub. I love the sound of running water so when I do go walking I always try to make sure part of it is near a stream or waterfall.

Just imagining myself on a tree swing that sways over the stream.

Spooky part of Hardcastle Craggs by Sam Freek
As you start to climb and begin to walk further away from the stream it gets much spookier with very little to be heard and with only the wind and the cracking of fallen sticks as you walk over the ground to keep your ears company. Here is a black and white photo of the top end of Hardcastle Craggs with what appears to be a ghost in the bottom left corner.

Hazy Day at Hardcastle Craggs by Sam Freek
It was a hazy day when I walked around Hardcastle Craggs and I was so longing for the sun to come out as it makes easier work of getting photos right and the colours just pop out. This is the top end of the walk around Hardcastle Craggs and you begin to descend back down to the stream around this point. I thought I would add a bit of blue sky and the sun to give you a sense of what kind of day I was hoping for.

Black and White Photography - Finding Roots III
Rather than go to the gym last weekend in the glorious sunshine I thought I would take myself out into the beautiful English countryside and go rambling. Apart from enjoying the landscape I love looking at the random formation of roots from the trees that protrude from the paths, most of the time I end up tripping up over these roots as I'm looking everywhere apart from where my feet are going. These black and white photographs are just a few of the formations I stumbled up on my outing.
